I just watched a news story [7/9/08] about people that adopt monkeys and treat them as KIDS. This is just whacko. Eventually, in some cases, the monkeys 'turned bad'. Biting their owners and all. So these people gave the monkey to a zoo.

One woman shown, has been married 9 yrs and when she got married to this guy, told him it's a package deal, because she felt bereft without her children. ???!!!

What is WRONG with people that spend thousands of dollars on a monkey instead of supporting a child thru someplace like Compassion.com? Or, in additon to that, how about volunteering at a local children's shelter? If they have so much money to spend, and so much love to give, why don't they spend it wisely?

I'll tell you why. It's all about selfishness. THEY want to feel this or that, THEY think this will help them get over their depression or whatever is ailing them. It's all about THEM and not about anyone else.

This can be taken further. Yes, lets. People want to WORSHIP. We are all created to WORSHIP. It is WHAT we want to worship that can get us into trouble. There are thousands of people that think worshipping another human is the way to get satisfied in life.

They think that THIS will fulfill their lust of self satisfaction. While it will for a time, there is still a hole inside them that can never quite get satisfied, so they seek more and more of this human worshipping, getting deeper and deeper into the lust of self fulfillment.

How do I, or you, tell people, people that are your next door neighbor, your boss, your best friend, how do we tell them what they are seeking is NOT based in lust, but based in the One Who created them? HOW do I tell them the activity of worship was written on the tablets of their heart when they were created in the womb and it's not supposed to be directed at another human being? I dunno. So I pray.
