This is to Virgina. I wanna be like her. It was written in the beginning of 2004. Virginia was the first one in Stan's class that entered my heart. We walked in and she was friendly and warm. Steve didn't have a job and she prayed for us and told me to 'have faith, God will work things out'. During that time of waiting, Virginia told me about her financial circumstances after her husband died. She encouraged me that God always works things out. He did and Virginia rejoiced with us. Virginia was my heart friend. People might wonder how I could have considered her my heart friend as I didn't know her phone number or even go to her house. But she and I didn't need that. We connected through the heart, not the physicality. For me, Virginia was the woman the Bible. She encouraged me in the Lord, she prayed for me and with me. She was the one I asked for prayer from on the really important things to me. She was the one who understood and knew how to pray, because she told me she had had some of the same things happen in her life at some time. Some people, I am not sure they pray when they say they are going too, but I knew she always prayed. She was the rarest of all women. A friend with a mother's heart. She was full of faith, full of encouragement and earnest with a lady-like earthiness and openness that is hard to match. I know that I know she's happy, I knew from the minute I read about her passing on the choir email. And this is a celebration of her life and being with the Lord now, but for me, left behind, I'm REALLY going to miss her. Back Sea buckthorn face serums |
