Quality vs. Quantity

March 21, 2006
Whilst comtemplating how much time I've spent with the Lord lately, I began feeling badly about the lack of time I've spent. Then I began hearing God say, 'you've been talking to me everyday, all day'. I thought, but that isn't enough, I need to spend more time, just with the Lord.

The answer is yes, I need to spend time only with the Lord. However, it's not just quality time, it's quantity. So many people say it's not the quantity of time spent with your child or ____ [fill in the blank], but the quality. Not so I say. Sometimes kids, as well as adults, just need time spent with them.

Oft times we need a lot of time, just time, spent with friends, loved ones. Many times the quantity BECOMES the quality, just by the quantity spent. Time is precious to everyone, so giving it away, to spend with someone you like a lot or love, makes it quality by virtue of the personal cost.

Time is also precious to our Lord. Many times he requires us to be still, waiting for him to move, to speak. I read accounts of Graham Cooke and Todd Bentley and others, that wait sometimes for DAYS before the Lord, waiting on him.

I think our Lord asks not only for quality time, but for quantity, because quantity becomes quality the more it's released and given to the Lord.
