God wants every Christian trained in His Word. This happens through personal study, attending church, classes and Bible studies. We are to study to show ourselves approved of God. I believe God wants to return the church to doing just this. A place where people come to be encouraged in the Lord, to encourage each other, to be trained for the ultimate goal of going in to the their places of work and living situations to show others Christ. We aer to set the captives free through casting out demons, healing the sick and leading others to Christ. Many have been and are saying God is moving into the marketplace. He's already moved in some. Others are catching on and catching up. As servants of the Lord we are to do what Kimberly Daniels calls 'basic training'. To cast out demons in the name of Jesus as a matter of ROUTINE. Not for the selected few, but EVERY single person who says Jesus is Lord, is told to do this. THIS is what the church is for. To train people on how to DO the things the Word of God tells us to do. We are ourselves to be saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, set free and trained so we may GO FORTH every day and proclaim the freedom in Christ. To loose the captives, set free the prisoner of lust, addiction, gluttony, to put in motion the warfare in the earth. The weapons of our warfare are not the ways of the world, they are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Our weapons are music, worshipping the Lord via song, tamborine, flute, clapping and prayer. Our weapons are forgiveness, love, acceptance and not judging. It's time for those in church on Sunday to LEARN and put into practice the rest of the week, what Christ has called us to do. WE, the PEOPLE, are the church. It is NOT a building!!! We business people have been ministers in the marketplace for years. Now there is a big movement to go into the marketplace. This means the church as a whole, is finally catching on. Yay! I hope and pray those that sit in chairs in their church building, will be shaken loose of complacency, of not putting into practice what they have been taught _already_ to do. Too often leaders of the church body cater to those that just want to hear a new message, something they can talk about over Sunday dinner, if they even do that. The message is usually good, however people need to be taught HOW to pray, what words to say, HOW to warfare, what we use in warfare, how to do it, HOW to speak to other people, what words to say; we need direction on how to do what we are called to do. Being an evangelist is NOT for those 'called' to it as a ministry. Every single follower of Christ is an evangelist. We need to put into practice what we know already. We need to STOP trying to win man's approval and set our focus on God. HE is the author of our confidence. We are to please CHRIST, NOT man. Stop looking for approval in others. God loves us, He wants us to be set free, feel loved and know He accepts us. We should have on-the-job-training on Sunday mornings, where everyone is taught HOW to speak, HOW to hear God, HOW to conduct warfare. No longer is God just allowing us to sit on our butts and be complacent. The church is in warfare and we are being shaken up. God bring on the shaking! Shake us up Lord, shake us out of our complacency, shake us out of our comfort zones. Send us teachers to teach us what we need to know to go out in to the places we work and deliver our co-workers from demons, speak about Christ, give the love of Christ every time we touch someone. Teach us Lord, shake us up! In Jesus' name. AMEN! |
